Virtual & Hybrid Meetings

To align with federal and state guidance on public events, MetroPlan Orlando Board meetings are being held in a hybrid format. To achieve an in-person quorum, some members will be attending in person, and other members will be attending through the Zoom web conferencing platform.  

The public is encouraged to join and participate in meetings virtually. The meeting room has space limitations, so members of the public who plan on attending in person must RSVP so MetroPlan Orlando can ensure appropriate social distancing. Members of the public wishing to make a public comment at a board meeting should fill out a speaker card form online, (MetroPlanOrlando.org/speakercard) and indicate whether you plan to comment virtually or in-person. 

Our goal is to ensure transportation planning continues uninterrupted by creating an open, transparent process for meetings that encourage productive discussion among members. We want the public to continue participating and having a voice in the planning process during these uncertain times.

Getting Set Up for Virtual Meetings

We’ve created step-by-step instructions on how to get set up for our virtual meetings, which are being held on the Zoom webinar platform. The instructions are slightly different for members of our board and committees versus members of the public, so please make sure you’re referring to the right set of instructions for you in the below PDFs.

Once you’ve completed your set-up, then you can decide which virtual meeting you’d like to join. The public viewing Zoom link for each meeting is located inside the individual event listing in the calendar section of our website and directly on the agenda. Board and committee members will receive personalized links to join meetings via email.

Meeting Roles & How to Make a Public Comment

Board and committee members are active participants in the virtual meetings and take part in discussions. Members of the public are welcome to attend as observers and can make a public comment at specific places in the agenda (please refer to the meeting agenda for details). You can make a public comment during the meeting or you can submit comments ahead of time by filling out an electronic speaker card (MetroPlanOrlando.org/speakercard), sending an email to comment@metroplanorlando.org or by leaving a voicemail at 407-906-2347 by noon the day prior to the meeting. Comments will be read or summarized at the meeting and included in the official meeting record.

Persons making live public comments are asked to maintain the same level of decorum as they would at a traditional public meeting.
