Silver Star Road Complete Streets Study Public Meeting

Posted on: March 7, 2019 in Complete Streets, Public Meetings

MetroPlan Orlando is seeking public comment on a Complete Streets Study for Silver Star Road in Downtown Ocoee from West Franklin Street (west of SR 429) to Silver Star Road (east of Bluford Avenue). A public meeting and open house is scheduled for March 14 to get feedback on the preliminary Complete Streets concept plan.

The meeting will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Ocoee, 4 North Lakewood Drive, Ocoee, FL 34761.

The public is invited to drop by anytime between 5:30 and 7:00pm to review the recommendations with MetroPlan Orlando and the consultant, HDR. No formal presentation will be given.

The Silver Star Road Complete Streets Study evaluated options to provide a lower cost alternative to roadway widening with improved safety, while including an extension of the West Orange Trail to downtown Ocoee. MetroPlan Orlando is leading the study, working directly with City of Ocoee, to develop recommendations that support the overall downtown vision and maintain a safe and reliable connection to SR 429 and destinations to the east.

For more information on the Silver Star Complete Streets Study, see the project working group page here.
