Posted on: April 21, 2017 in Long Range Transportation Plan

UPDATE (5/10/2017): The MetroPlan Orlando Board unanimously approved this amendment to the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan.

The MetroPlan Orlando Board will consider a proposed amendment to the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan during its May 10 meeting.

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is requesting approval of the amendment to the 2040 Plan to include removal of one project previously assumed to be committed for funding, addition of an unfunded need to the funded list, a new corridor PD&E Study in East Orlando and three interchange modifications. The Turnpike Enterprise has incorporated the projects into planning and programming documents, and the amendments are proposed to ensure consistency with the Long Range Transportation Plan.

The amendment is considered minor, which means a formal public hearing is not required. However, the public is encouraged to give written feedback on the amendment or to make comments at the  meeting where the amendment will be presented.

Residents are invited to submit written comments on the amendment to MetroPlan Orlando, 250 S Orange Avenue, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801 or by emailing LRTP@metroplanorlando.gov. The deadline to submit written comments is May 9, 2017. The MetroPlan Orlando Board will consider the amendment at its regular meeting, 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10.
