National Blind Americans Equality Day Event

October 18, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

Every year this event is organized by local organizations to reaffirm Central Florida’s commitment to pedestrian safety for the visually impaired. National Blind Americans Equality Day (formerly known as White Cane Safety Day) was created to raise awareness that drivers are supposed to yield to pedestrians using a white walking cane or a guide dog to cross the street.

The event is open to the public and will have fun activities like blindfolded obstacle courses, sensory games and assistive-tech demonstrations.

This notice is being posted in accordance with Florida’s Government-in-the-Sunshine regulations. The event is not being hosted by MetroPlan Orlando, but two or more of our board or committee members are likely to be present.

Location

Beardall Senior Center
800 S. Delaney Avenue
