Applications Due January 31 for Community Advisory Committee Seats

A CAC member provides a layperson’s view in the transportation planning process. Those who want to join can apply online.

Are you interested in transportation planning and looking for a way to get involved in 2021? MetroPlan Orlando has several openings for members on the Community Advisory Committee. This committee provides citizen input to the transportation planning process and strives to reflect the diversity of Central Florida, including members who represent under-served or disadvantaged communities. The committee is structured to include representatives from across the transportation spectrum. Find out more about the Community Advisory Committee here.

All these are volunteer positions. Volunteers attend regular meetings and have materials to read and evaluate in between meetings. The application process has been open since October, and those who have already applied DO NOT need to apply again. Other applicants can complete an application form by Jan. 31 at: MetroPlanOrlando.gov/CAC

Community Advisory Committee Requirements

Potential members should meet the following requirements:
• Be interested in various modes of transportation (including, but not limited to, private motor vehicles, bicycling, walking, freight, bus and rail)
• Reside in Orange, Osceola or Seminole county
• Not work in the transportation industry
• Not be serving as an elected official

How to Apply

Applying to join the committee is easy. Just fill out the application and tell us why you’re interested.

Applications can be submitted online or mailed to: MetroPlan Orlando, ATTN: CAC Application, 250 South Orange Avenue, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801. All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee in early February. Recommendations will then be made to the MetroPlan Orlando Board for official appointments. All applicants will be notified individually.
