Partnerships Shape Transportation Now and in the Future

MetroPlan Orlando’s annual report, Decade of Transformation looks at Central Florida’s recent transportation accomplishments and the challenges that lie ahead. It also sets the stage for the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), to be approved by our board this year.

You can see the 2020 annual report here.

Working regionally has been the focus of our agency for more than two decades. Collaboration is more important now than ever, as we work to implement Central Florida’s 25-year vision for the future. We can’t stand still as an organization while the transportation industry moves forward.

We have a Strategic Plan to guide our agency’s activities over the next several years, and this report to the community is structured around its five major goals:

  • Strengthen leader and convener role on regional issues
  • Strengthen board and committee effectiveness
  • Support the region in providing multimodal solutions and optimizing the safety, efficiency, and management of the transportation system
  • Continue excellence in traditional and mandated MPO activities
  • Continue to ensure operational excellence

The key to accomplishing our transportation planning mission is engaging the public while fostering effective partnerships with operating agencies and all levels of government. Working together, we can create a regional transportation system that offers safe options for people and goods to move throughout our region.

If you have questions about the annual report or the year 2045 Plan – or if you would like a free paper copy of the report – please email us at MTP@MetroPlanOrlando.gov.

We hope you enjoy finding our more about what we have been working on with our partners – and what we see ahead for the region.
