Watch the 2045 Plan Take Shape Through Our Series of Technical Reports

We’re building the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), piece by piece. The heart of the plan is a series of technical reports that cover various parts of the vision for Central Florida transportation 25 years from now.
Currently, there are 9 MTP technical reports in draft form posted on our website. These cover a variety of topics from Existing Conditions to Financial Resources. You can access them through MetroPlanOrlando.gov/2045 under Documents for Review.
Here’s what you can expect to find in each of these discussions of the data and technical parts of the 2045 Plan:
- Goals & Objectives: An outline of MetroPlan Orlando’s transportation vision, which serves as a guide for the 2045 MTP
- Data Source Guide: A data dictionary that outlines the sources used for the plan
- Origin-Destination Analyses: The metrics behind our transportation story, centering on the flow of Central Floridians from their origins to their destination
- Existing Conditions & Area Profile: An overview of our region today, which will form the basis of future forecasts and scenarios
- Preliminary Multimodal Needs: This section currently contains two documents that are under review of our local partners
- Financial Resources: A look at how transportation programs and projects could be funded over the next 20-25 years.
- Prioritization Process: Different types of criteria used to score and evaluate transportation projects for the 2045 Plan
- Freight & Goods Movement: How freight moves in the region and needs and opportunities that should be considered
The rest of the 2045 Plan is taking shape, and a full draft copy will be posted in mid-October. We’ll be collecting public comments and sharing more plan details virtually. The draft plan will be submitted to the MetroPlan Orlando Board in December.
