Posted on: February 19, 2019 in MetroPlan Orlando Advisory Committees, Transportation News

Apply by March 22 to be considered for membership

UPDATE: Applications have closed. All applications submitted before the deadline will be considered by a subcommittee, which will  make a recommendation to the MetroPlan Orlando Board. Official appointments are expected May 8.

Are you interested in transportation planning? Here’s your chance to get more involved. We’re filling vacancies on our Community Advisory Committee for multimodal advocates (voting seats) and non-voting alternates. Non-voting alternates are full participants in committee discussions and meetings.

The committee provides citizen input to the transportation planning process and strives to reflect the diversity of the Central Florida community, including those who are underserved or disadvantaged. The committee is structured to include representatives from across the transportation spectrum, including bicyclists, pedestrians, drivers, and transit riders (bus and rail). For more information on the Community Advisory Committee, see the bylaws here.

Requirements for Membership

Potential members should meet the following requirements:
• Be interested in various modes of transportation (including, but not limited to, private motor vehicles, bicycling, walking, freight, bus and rail)
• Reside in Orange, Osceola or Seminole counties
• Not work in the transportation industry
• Not be serving as elected officials

How to Apply

Applying to join the committee is easy. Just fill out this application and tell us why you’re interested in joining.

Applications should be submitted online by 5 p.m. March 22, 2019 or mailed to MetroPlan Orlando, ATTN: CAC Application, 250 South Orange Avenue, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801. All applications will be reviewed by a subcommittee, which will make recommendations to the MetroPlan Orlando Board. The board will make official committee appointments at its May 8, 2019 meeting.
