We Want to Hear Your Opinions on the 2045 Plan by November 20

A virtual tour of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan will get you up to speed. There are several ways to comment, including at a public meeting on November 9.

We want to show you the future of transportation in Central Florida and find out what you think about it.

The draft 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan – a series of technical reports examining aspects of the transportation system, such as data, funding, and public participation – is ready for your review. You can go on a virtual tour of the draft plan here.

We’ll also be having a virtual public meeting on November 9 to talk about the 2045 Plan, and you can register for free here2045 Plan – The Reveal will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will feature presentations on different parts of the draft plan, as well as opportunities to ask questions and express your opinions. Please join us.

The 2045 Plan must be cost feasible, meaning we have to be able to pay for projects in the plan with revenues expected over the next couple of decades. This draft Cost Feasible Plan document includes an outline of funding, projects we can afford, and a list of unfunded needs. The MetroPlan Orlando Board will vote on adoption of the 2045 Plan at its December 9, 2020 meeting.

How to Comment

We need to get your feedback by close of  business November 20, the end of the public comment period. The MetroPlan Orlando Board will receive a summary of public comments before taking action on the plan. People also may comment at the December 9 meeting.

There are several ways you can submit public comments on the 2045 Plan draft:

  • Written Comment – Submit a comment card. Click here to access our electronic comment card form.
  • Written Comment – Submit an email to MTP@metroplanorlando.gov.
  • Spoken Comment – Attend 2045 Plan – The Reveal on Nov. 9 and make an oral comment during the comment period of the meeting. Speakers will have three minutes to comment.
  • Spoken Comment – Leave a message on our public comment line at 407-906-2347.

More About the 2045 Plan

The 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan resulted from more than a year of robust technical planning and public outreach. The 2045 Plan identifies current and future needs based on several factors. The plan is updated every five years to reflect the changing dynamics of the region. Projects must be included in the plan to receive federal funding.
